Design & Construction

As everyone is unique in their water feature or pond requirements, we help you to design the pond that you want.  We can give you ideas as to what design would best suit your garden, and we can carry out the work from start to finish.  We do not rely on subcontractors to do the preparation and building work, as all work is carried out professionally by ourselves.

To ensure that the work is to the highest possible standard, our ponds always have a perfectly level concrete block collar on a concrete footing to ensure that the sides of the pond do not collapse, which is the case with a lot of ponds that we have to restore.  This also prevents vermin chewing through the sides of the liner, and creates a solid footing for paving, brickwork, rocks etc., around the pond edge.

Once the level of the pond has been determined and the collar has been built, the pond is then excavated incorporating different depths of planting shelving, down to the maximum depth.  The sides are then rendered, covered with sand, underlay and a top quality rubber liner.  We then have a good solid base to work from to be able to build the waterfalls, and do any rockery, paving etc.

Some ponds can be raised out of the ground, which can be of brickwork, York walling or material of your choice.

As each pond design is totally unique, we will need to visit you and your garden to establish what you want before giving any estimates.  This generally is free of charge.
